AN INTERNATIONAL PLACE FOR PASTORAL DIALOGUE

We are celebrating 25 consecutive years of our ministry to priests, ministers and religious men in ministry.

Twenty five years ago a client, who was a priest, asked me if I had ever considered offering a special service to priests and men in ministry.

He said there was an enormous need for a place where men in ministry could
feel safe; a place where they could talk freely about themselves as individuals
and as human beings. Men in ministry require a place where they could
experience confidentiality, discernment, compassion, understanding, direction
and psychotherapeutic process for themselves as men, as priests and as
ministers.
Men In Ministry are very human people. Clergymen are regarded as having a
special vocation that sets them apart from the secular world. They often have
had no place to express their feelings; no place to talk about their difficulties
ie: addictions, behavior, relationships, faith issues, emotionallongings, and
ordinary human needs.
The secular demands of the modern world, the restrictive nature of the
ministry creates enormous tensions for men who are already over-burdened.
Clergymen who initiate dialogue in these areas of need often place themselves
in a vulnerable position for misunderstanding re: faith issues, loyalty to
commitments, vows and promises.
"Church directed organizations and programs designed to assist clergy with
alternative renewal, formation programs do not necessarily serve the
individual cleric, but rather offer rehabilitation to further serve the needs and
interests of the church and church hierarchy."(The above quote is not necessarily the opinion of CPEBTherapies Inc.)

It was out of this meeting that we have developed A JOURNEY INTO SELF-DISCOVERY FOR MEN IN MINISTRY, a place where we serve you with confidentiality, compassion and understanding. We have deep love for the church and we are happy to be within her fold and her love for us, we also know that individual priests who work for the church need a place where they can speak from their hearts about themselves in confidence.

In the past twenty five years we have had men in ministry come to the Journey Into Self-discovery Program from all over the world. We have also gone to places outside of Canada to meet them. They have come from places as far away as Australia, India, New Zealand, Africa, South America, United States and Canada. We have been very happy to do this work and have enjoyed the connection we have had with some men in ministry. We are grateful for these twenty five years to serve you. We look forward to many more years.
